An exciting opportunity now exists for an accomplished Manager Commercial to provide strategic leadership across Council’s commercial portfolio. Reporting to the Director Corporate and Commercial, this influential role will lead implementation of Council’s Investment and Commercialisation Strategy, strengthening commercial capability, diversifying revenue and supporting long-term financial sustainability whilst balancing and supporting community outcomes

Working across the organisation, the Manager Commercial will identify, evaluate and progress investment, partnership, property and other commercial opportunities that create sustainable financial and community value. The role will provide trusted commercial advice to senior leaders, collaborate on opportunities involving surplus land and revenue-generating assets, and oversee commercial operations and regulated Water Services. It will also lead relationships with commercial partners, regulators,



government agencies, and other key stakeholders, while developing a multidisciplinary team and fostering a commercially focused, high-performing culture.

The successful candidate will bring significant senior-level experience in commercial management, investment, business development, asset-based commercial operations or a related discipline. Strong financial literacy, commercial judgement, negotiation and stakeholder management skills will be essential, together with demonstrated experience developing complex commercial arrangements and translating strategy into action. You will be an adaptable and team-oriented leader who can balance commercial outcomes with transparency, accountability and broader community value.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and equivalent senior commercial experience are required. Experience within local government, regulated utilities, property or asset optimisation will be highly regarded.
