The Opportunity
Are you a Licensed Customs Broker looking for your next career move?

Our client is a well-established Australian owned freight forwarder experiencing continued growth. With a strong reputation for operational excellence, customer service and compliance, they are looking to add another Customs Broker to their established team. This team is built with continual succession planning and talent management in mind.

This is a great opportunity for a broker who has been licensed for at least a year or 2 and has developed a thorough and well-rounded customs and operational background, looking to build on their technical skills within a supportive and established environment.

About the Role
As a Licensed Customs Broker, you will be responsible for the accurate and compliant clearance of import and export shipments, while providing high-quality service and technical support to clients.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and lodging import and export declarations via EDI
- Applying accurate tariff classifications and determining customs value and origin
- Assessing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility and applicable concessions
- Calculating duties, GST and applicable charges
- Liaising with Australian Border Force (ABF), freight forwarders, shipping lines and biosecurity authorities
- Complete refund and drawback applications as required.
- Maintaining accurate, complete and audit-ready documentation
- Providing technical advice and guidance to clients




- Supporting the wider team with customs compliance and technical matters

About You
We are looking for a Customs Broker with a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in continuing to develop their career.
You will ideally have:

- A current Customs Broker Licence
- Approx. 1–2 years' experience as a licensed Customs Broker
- A thorough and well-rounded background, with experience across a diverse range of commodities within customs team and/or freight forwarding environment
- A sound understanding of Australian customs legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with EDI systems
- CargoWise experience is highly regarded
- Solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
