Nurse Unit Manager- Perioperative

1 FTE (NM10-NM12)

Swan Hill District Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to lead our Perioperative Services as the Nurse Unit Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nursing leader to drive excellence in patient care, workforce leadership, quality improvement and clinical governance within a dynamic rural health service.

The Position: The Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager provides strategic, operational and clinical leadership across Perioperative Services, including Operating Theatre, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) and Central Sterile Services. The role is responsible for ensuring protected, effective and efficient perioperative services through strong clinical governance, workforce leadership, resource management, quality improvement and compliance with professional and accreditation standards. The position promotes a culture of excellence, safety and continuous improvement to achieve optimal patient, staff and organisational outcomes.

You Bring:

• Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

• Knowledge and understanding of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards

• Experience in workforce planning, rostering, staffing allocation and management of nursing resource. •

Well-developed interpersonal, written and communication skills.

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience in peri-operative nursing

• Ability to foster a positive workplace culture that promotes staff engagement, wellbeing and retention.

• Current National Police Record Check

• Current “Working with Children Permit”





• Evidence of immunisation records/history as part of the Health Services Act 1988, 2020 Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers), through either documentation or copy of serology report. It is required that there is immunization for all vaccine preventable illnesses.

Highly Desirable

- Postgraduate qualification in Leadership, Management, Perioperative or a related field.

Mandatory requirements (remove or add as per position description)

· Current National Police Check, or will to obtain.

· Working with Children’s Check, or will to obtain.

· NDIS worker screening check, or will to obtain.

· Evidence of immunisation records/history as part of the Health Services Act 1988, 2020 Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers).
