Shipping Operations
Oversee the execution of international freight movements, ensuring service, compliance and visibility requirements are met.
Ensure accurate and timely management of shipping documentation, customs clearance and regulatory obligations.
Manage shipment exceptions, delays and operational risks, ensuring timely communication and resolution.

External Stakeholder Management
Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers and logistics service providers.
Monitor partner performance against agreed KPIs, service levels and contractual obligations.
Drive collaboration, issue resolution and service improvements across the external logistics network

Performance & Reporting
Own shipping performance reporting, including freight costs, service performance, supplier compliance, shipment visibility and operational KPIs.
Monitor and analyse trends, risks and performance metrics, providing recommendations to improve service, cost and efficiency outcomes.
Lead regular business reviews with logistics providers and internal stakeholders to review performance and drive accountability.




Develop and maintain reporting frameworks to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Operational Excellence & Cost Management
Manage freight-related costs through effective supplier and freight forwarder partnerships, identifying and implementing cost reduction, consolidation and network optimisation prospects.
Validate freight charges, minimise detention and demurrage costs, and maximise container and shipment utilisation.
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance service, compliance, visibility, efficiency and cost performance.
Drive operational excellence initiatives and support the delivery of the Logistics continuous improvement roadmap.

Leadership
Lead and develop the Shipping team, ensuring alignment to business priorities and operational objectives.
Manage team performance, capability development and workload allocation.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Safety
Leads the safety agenda by ensuring self and team understand, adhere to, and work towards meeting their HSE Responsibilities as advised in the GetSAFE 3.1 HSE Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Authorities Standards
