About us
Al Naturale is a is an Italian-inspired café at 6 Acland Street, St Kilda. It started with a focus on producing premium nut milks, making fresh almond, hazelnut and walnut milk, and later expanded into a café/patisserie in St Kilda. We are looking for a skilled and creative Pastrycook to join our team.

About the role
You will be responsible for producing and decorating a wide range of cakes, pastries and baked goods to a high standard, including custom orders for special occasions.

Key responsibilities
Preparing, baking and finishing cakes, tarts, pastries and choux products
Producing layered cakes and custom cakes and cookies to client specifications
Decorating with royal icing, fondant, buttercream, cream and piping techniques
Creating freehand cake and cookie art and bespoke designs
Producing chocolate and sugar work decorations
Checking the quality of ingredients and finished products




Planning daily production and managing stock levels
Maintaining a clean and secure kitchen in line with food safety standards

Skills and experience required
Relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III or IV in Patisserie or equivalent) and at least 1 o 2 years of experience as a Pastrycook or 3 years of full time experience as a Pastrycook
Demonstrated skills in royal icing, fondant and buttercream decoration
Custom and freehand cake and cookie decorating
Piping and cream techniques
Chocolate work and sugar work
Layered cakes, tarts, pastries and choux pastry
Solid attention to detail, creativity and the ability to work to deadlines
Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as required

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
