NewsExtra Newsagency is looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Casual Retail Assistant to join our team in Ballina.

This is a excellent chance for someone who enjoys working with customers, is comfortable handling cash and enjoys a varied retail environment.

What you’ll be doing
Providing friendly and helpful customer service
Operating the POS and handling cash and EFTPOS transactions
Selling and processing lottery products
Serving customers with magazines, newspapers, gifts and other retail products
Replenishing stock and keeping displays neat and well presented
Receiving and organising stock
Assisting with general shop duties
Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming store
Following store procedures and providing a positive customer experience

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:
Friendly, polite and approachable
Reliable and punctual




Honest and trustworthy
Confident communicating with customers
Comfortable using a computer/POS system
Able to handle cash accurately
Well presented and professional
Able to work independently as well as part of a small team
Available for adaptable casual shifts, including weekends when required
Retail or customer service experience is preferred, but training will be provided for the right person.

Pay: $24.35 – $34.76 per hour
