Role details The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unnit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Health Equity Project Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity To facilitate the development of integrated approaches between primary, secondary and tertiary health care (the health care delivery system) to maximise health gains for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the life course from maternity and child health services to the older population and those managing complex chronic conditions. This position is an prospect to work within the public healthcare system and work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their health organisations and general practice,



to realise the MHHS vision of excellence in healthcare, wellbeing, research and education in Regional/Central Queensland.

About the Team The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit is an essential element of the MHHS support services and ensures the development and delivery of culturally appropriate services and models of health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families.

About our Hospital and Health Service

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
