About the role

We are looking for 2 experienced Cooks who have a sound understanding of Italian cuisine and are confident working in a busy and quick-paced commercial kitchen. The successful applicants will work as part of our kitchen team and will be expected to maintain consistency in food preparation, cooking, presentation, hygiene and service standards.

Key responsibilities
Preparing and cooking a range of Italian dishes in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards
Preparing ingredients and undertaking mise en place for daily lunch and/or dinner service
Preparing pasta dishes, sauces, entrees and other Italian menu items
Assisting with pizza preparation and other kitchen sections as required
Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and service
Monitoring food during preparation and cooking to maintain consistency in taste, portion size and presentation
Ensuring food is stored appropriately and assisting with stock rotation and stock control
Minimising food wastage and assisting with effective use of kitchen ingredients
Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
Complying with food safety,



hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements

About you
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery or a related field and/or relevant practical experience working as a Cook in a commercial restaurant environment
Previous experience with Italian cuisine, preferably in an Italian restaurant or pizzeria
Knowledge of Italian food preparation, pasta, sauces and other traditional Italian dishes
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen workplace
Positive understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements
Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team
Availability to work a flexible full-time roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
