The Royal Hotel Port Elliot is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen. This is a full time position based in the picturesque seaside town of Port Elliot, SA. In your role you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food prep, menu development, and kitchen operations whilst maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and presentation. We are seeking a Head Chef with a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
What you'll be doing
Planning, designing and updating menus that reflect seasonal and regional availability
Preparing and cooking meals to a consistently high standard, ensuring all dishes meet quality and presentation expectations
Managing food stock, ordering supplies and controlling food costs whilst maintaining profitability
Training, supervising and mentoring kitchen staff within a positive workplace
Maintaining kitchen equipment and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations,
food hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout
What we're looking for
Experience as Head Chef (minimum of 2 years) in a pub environment
Creative flair and passion for food
Robust knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety regulations
Ability to manage kitchen teams, delegate tasks and motivate staff
Current food hygiene and safety certifications
Experience in cost control and stock management
Good communication and effective time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
