About the role

As a Transport Allocator at Saddingtons, you'll allocate loads and plan daily runs across our fleet, liaising directly with drivers to keep them briefed, on schedule and supported through the day. You'll be the first point of contact when something needs to change on the fly — a delay, a breakdown, a last-minute booking — and you'll need to communicate clearly and calmly with drivers, customers and the depot team to keep everything moving.

Key responsibilities
Work with our team to pick and pack building supply orders.
Allocate loads and plan daily runs across the fleet
Liaise directly with drivers to keep them briefed, on schedule and supported
Handle invoices, bookings and paperwork
Monitor deliveries in real time
Communicate with drivers,



customers and the depot team to manage changes on the fly
Resolve issues before they become a problem for the customer

About you
Experience in transport allocation or dispatch is a plus
Experience with building supplies is a plus
Robust communication skills
Ability to think on your feet
Ability to stay steady when the day gets chaotic

Saddingtons is a building supplies merchant with a depot in Boolaroo, running freight operations across Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter region and beyond. We were established in 1921 and have multiple depots in Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
