About the role

This is a diverse, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing opportunities and turning ideas into action. Working with the Board, a small established team and a valued network of volunteers and supporters, the General Manager will lead the implementation of Variety NT's strategic direction while remaining connected to the programs, events and activities that bring the organisation's purpose to life.

Key responsibilities
Lead and support the organisation across stakeholder and partnership development, fundraising and business development, marketing and communications, team and volunteer leadership, financial oversight and the delivery of programs and activities
Strengthen and nurture Variety NT's relationships across the Territory and develop prospects that support the organisation's long-term sustainability
Think strategically while remaining comfortable working practically in a small organisation
Develop corporate partnerships and engage with families and community organisations




Support the team and volunteers and represent Variety NT
Help deliver events and activities
Strengthen the organisation's profile, tell its story and connect with supporters across generations

About you
Solid communication and relationship skills
Commercial and financial acumen
Sound judgement and understanding of the respective responsibilities of a Board and General Manager
Contemporary marketing, communications and social media capability
Experience in the not-for-profit or community sector valued, or demonstrated understanding of and genuine capacity to adapt to a purpose-driven organisation
Current manual driver's licence and confidence driving 4WD vehicles and towing trailers required
Must hold or obtain an Ochre Card, Police Check and First Aid certification
