A leading global independent advisory firm is appointing an Investment Banking Associate to its Melbourne team, with a focus on General Industrials. The platform advises boards, shareholders and institutions on complex M&A;, defence, restructuring and capital solutions and is recognised for discretion, intellectual rigour and high-quality execution.

The Australian business combines a growing local presence with deep access to global sector knowledge and transaction capability. Advice is independent and conflict-free; client relationships are senior-led and built for the long term.

THE ROLE

Support M&A;, strategic-advisory and capital-related mandates, including complex and cross-border transactions.

Build detailed financial models, valuations and analytical workstreams that inform live client advice.

Prepare strategic analysis, transaction documentation and board-level presentations.

Manage execution tasks across live deals and coordinate with clients, counterparties and external advisers.

Conduct company, sector and market analysis for live mandates and origination.

Work closely with senior bankers in negotiations,



client meetings and long-term relationship development.

Review and coordinate Analyst work while maintaining high technical and presentation standards.

THE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Approximately 2 to 5 years of experience in investment banking or top-tier corporate advisory.
Demonstrated transaction exposure across M&A; or other complex advisory assignments.
Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capability, with explicit writing and close attention to detail.
The judgement, resilience and reliability required in a demanding, high-expectation workplace.
A degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline. CFA progression is helpful but not essential.
