RF Scanner / Meat Picker (Chilled Warehouse)

This is a casual warehouse position in a chilled meat distribution environment. You will be responsible for order picking, scanning, labelling, and pallet loading to ensure efficient dispatch of boxed meat cartons. The role requires working within a cold chain workplace to maintain product temperature integrity and meet same-day transport pickup deadlines. On the job training supplied.

Key responsibilities

Enter the chilled warehouse setting to locate and select specific boxed meat cartons using an RF scan gun
n
Scan each carton accurately to update the inventory system, verify product codes, and apply the appropriate address labels directly onto the cartons
n
Manually stack labelled cartons onto pallets efficiently, ensuring stable and secure loading for immediate transport
n
Place completed pallets in the designated staging zone, ready for same-day transport pickup
n
Work efficiently within the chilled setting to maintain product temperature integrity
n

About you

n

n
Capability to handle repetitive manual lifting of heavy boxed meat cartons (typically up to 20–25kg)
n
Comfortable working productively inside a chilled warehouse environment (0°C to 4°C)
n
Ability to confidently operate an RF scan gun or barcode scanner for stock picking
n
Precision in matching scanning prompts to physical cartons and ensuring correct address label placement
n
Ability to work at a steady pace to meet daily transport pickup deadlines
n

Remuneration & Benefits

Paid under the Meat Industry Award 2020, with casual minimum base rates starting at $32.18/hr (inclusive of 25% casual loading)
n
Eligible for applicable award allowances
n
Generous penalty rates apply for overtime or weekend work as per the modern award
n
Initial casual trial period with genuine potential to transition to a permanent full-time position based on performance and reliability
