St. Georges Bakehouse is seeking a reliable and experienced Cook/Chef to work in our busy bakery/café in Adelaide, SA. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items, maintaining high food quality and presentation standards, following food safety and hygiene requirements, managing food preparation, and supporting the smooth daily operation of the kitchen.

The Cook/Chef will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking meals and food products according to recipes and quality standards, monitoring food quality and freshness, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, managing food storage and stock, minimising food wastage, and ensuring all food preparation is carried out safely and efficiently.

Preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of meals and food products.

Preparing ingredients such as vegetables, meat, sauces, salads, and other food items.

Following recipes, portion sizes, and established food preparation procedures.

Ensuring food is cooked properly and meets quality, taste, freshness, and presentation standards.

Preparing food efficiently to meet customer demand during busy periods.

Monitoring the quality and freshness of ingredients and prepared food.

/n
Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.

/n
Ensuring proper storage, labelling, and handling of food and ingredients.

/n
Operating cooking equipment and kitchen appliances safely and correctly.

/n
Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, work areas, utensils, and preparation areas.

/n
Monitoring stock levels and informing management when ingredients and supplies need to be ordered.

Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food wastage.

/n
Following workplace health and safety procedures and food safety regulations.

/n
Assisting with menu preparation and maintaining consistency in food quality.

/n
Working closely with other kitchen and bakery staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Maintaining an organised, clean, and productive kitchen workplace.

/n
Supporting other kitchen duties as required by management.
