The role requires robust stakeholder engagement across Command Teams, vessel personnel, contractors and subject matter experts to ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Defence policy and Navy safety requirements.Key responsibilitiesYou will lead and assure WHS compliance, undertake risk assessments and investigations, conduct audits and assurance activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of WHS policies, procedures and management systems.You will provide practical advice on complex safety matters, monitor WHS performance and emerging risks, prepare high-quality briefs and reports, and support governance forums and safety committees.Operating independently and within multidisciplinary teams, you will promote a positive safety culture through coaching, education, collaboration and the application of contemporary WHS best practice in a dynamic maritime environment.Candidates will consider these requirements when assessing their suitability for the role.What you needCompletion of Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Work Health and Safety.Extensive experience in Work Health and Safety and/or Environmental Science working with various stakeholders in a maritime and or high-risk environment.
