Reporting to the Process Crew Supervisor the Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimising processing plant operations from the control room to ensure safe, stable and efficient plant performance.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining throughput, recovery and process stability while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and operating standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety, Health and EnvironmentOperate the processing plant in accordance with Heritage Minerals' HSE systems, site procedures and statutory requirements.Maintain situational awareness of plant conditions and respond promptly to abnormal or emergency situations.Ensure alarms, interlocks and safety systems are correctly monitored and actionedCommunicate safety-critical information to Shift Supervisor and field operators in a timely mannerSupport incident reporting, hazard identification and continuous improvement initiatives.Control Room OperationsMonitor and control plant processes via SCADA/DCS systems including crushing, milling, classification, leaching and associated circuits.Adjust operating parameters to maintain secure operation and achieve production and metallurgical targets.Coordinate start-ups, shutdowns and plant transitions in line with approved operating proceduresIdentify and respond to process deviations,



equipment alarms and plant upsetsMaintain accurate shift logs and control room recordsCommunication and CoordinationMaintain clear and effective communication with field operators to coordinate plant activitiesLiaise with the Processing Plant Shift Supervisor regarding plant status, issues and prioritiesSupport maintenance activities by coordinating isolations and plant availabilityParticipate in effective shift handovers, ensuring continuity of safe and stable operations.Metallurgical SupportWork closely with the Shift Metallurgist to implement operating strategies and process changesMonitor metallurgical performance indicators such as throughput, grind size, reagent usage and recoveriesSupport metallurgical test work, trials and optimisation initiatives as directedHousekeeping and ComplianceMaintain high standards of control room housekeeping and documentationEnsure compliance with site procedures, permits and operating instructionsParticipate in audits, inspections and competency assessments as requiredQualifications, Skills and ExperienceExperience operating a metalliferous mineral processing plant control systemDemonstrated understanding of processing plant flowsheets and operating principlesExperience with SCADA/DC systems in a continuous processing environmentExperience in plant commissioning or ramp-up environmentsAbility to live and reman aligned to Heritage Minerals values of: Safety, Innovation, Respect and Responsibility is vital.
