ProFound People is partnering with an established Australian product design and manufacturing business to find a Test Engineer for their in-house R&D; team.
They design, engineer and manufacture their own products locally and are investing heavily in new product development.
This is a hands-on setting where testing sits at the heart of the design process, not off to the side.The roleThis is a Test Engineer role embedded within the R&D; team.
You will own the test lab and work alongside the product development engineers from early concept through to production sign-off.
It suits someone who wants to shape how products are tested and validated, rather than execute a test sheet handed to them.Day to day you willOwn and run the in-house test labWork with R&D; engineers to define what needs testing, then plan and execute itWrite test plans covering standards, design claims, sample volumes and test sequencingCarry out destructive, cyclic,



wear and endurance testing on prototypes and pre-production unitsDesign and build test jigs and fixtures in SolidWorksInvestigate failure modes and feed findings back into designManage external and international testing houses for formal product approvalsContribute to design reviews as a technical peerAbout youMechanical engineering degree or equivalentHands-on test, validation or product development experienceConfident in SolidWorks for jig and fixture designComfortable writing and owning test plansExperience in an R&D; or NPD environment highly regardedExposure to quality systems or ISO standards a plusSomeone who wants ownership and room to grow, not just to tick boxesWhat is on offerA test role inside a collaborative, well-resourced R&D; teamReal ownership of the lab and the testing functionVariety across products and test typesLong-term growth as the team evolvesSouth-West Sydney, onsite
