Adult Consultant Psychiatrist | Brisbane CBD | Unite HealthcarePart-Time | Independent Contractor | 70% Fee Split | Flexible Days | Brisbane CBDAbout the opportunityA well-established multidisciplinary psychology practice in Brisbane CBD is looking to welcome an experienced Adult Consultant Psychiatrist.This is an opportunity to join an established practice with existing referral demand, strong administrative support and a collaborative team environment, without needing to build your own practice infrastructure from scratch.The role can start at 1-2 days per week, with flexibility to increase as the caseload develops.The opportunityAs the practice's first psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to build a consistent adult psychiatry caseload while working alongside an established team of psychologists.The practice currently receives approximately 35 recent enquiries per week, providing an existing source of potential referrals.

with Thursdays expected to become available later in the year.Clinical workYou will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management for adult clients aged 18+.
Presentations may include:ADHD, including assessment and managementDepression and mood disordersAnxiety disordersBipolar disorderPTSD and trauma-related presentationsOCDPersonality disordersOther common adult mental health presentationsExperience with autism assessment and eating disorders would also be highly valued.The psychiatrist will work collaboratively with psychologists and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, evidence-based care.Key responsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for adult clientsProvide diagnosis and clinical formulationDevelop and review treatment plansPrescribe and monitor medication where clinically indicatedPrepare clinical reports and correspondence for GPs, specialists and other relevant stakeholdersMaintain accurate and timely clinical recordsCommunicate and collaborate with the practice's psychologistsParticipate in case discussions where appropriateMaintain compliance with Medicare, AHPRA,



Medical Board and privacy requirementsContribute to appropriate clinical governance and quality improvement activitiesAbout the practiceThe practice has a strong focus on creating a supportive environment where clinicians can focus on delivering quality care rather than managing the administrative demands of running a private practice.You'll be joining a sociable and collaborative team, with psychologists working alongside one another and access to experienced administrative and intake support.The clinic has a dedicated intake function that responds to enquiries promptly and helps convert referrals into appointments, while the broader administration team manages bookings and other practice requirements.About youWe are looking for an experienced psychiatrist who is calm, collaborative and patient-focused, and who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will ideally have:Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), or eligibility for FellowshipSpecialist registration with AHPRA and the Medical Board of AustraliaCurrent professional indemnity insuranceA Medicare provider number, or eligibility to obtain oneExperience working with adult mental health presentationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAn interest in collaborative care alongside psychologistsExperience in private practice would be advantageousADHD assessment and management experience would be highly regardedTelehealth experience would be advantageousWhy consider this opportunity?
