The Store Manager is accountable for the overall leadership, operational performance, profitability, and customer experience of a Foodworks supermarket.
As an independent, community-focused retailer, the role requires a hands-on leader who drives sales and gross profit while delivering high standards of fresh food quality, store presentation, customer service, and local community engagement.

and operating expensesEnsure full compliance with Queensland and Australian food safety standards, temperature control, hygiene, labelling, and allergen managementMaintain a strong workplace health and safety culture and ensure safe systems of work for team and customersAbout youProven experience as a Store Manager or senior retail manager in a supermarket, grocery, or high-volume independent retail environment (preferably 3-5+ years)Solid commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage P&L;, drive sales, control costs, and interpret financial and operational dataExcellent leadership, coaching, and people-management skills with experience building and developing teamsSound knowledge of supermarket operations, including fresh food handling, inventory management, merchandising, and customer serviceHigh level of organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCurrent Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness and ability to obtain promptlyWorking knowledge of relevant Queensland and national legislation including Fair Work, workplace health and safety, and food safetyComputer literacy, including POS systems, rostering software, Microsoft Office, and reporting toolsFlexibility to work a roster that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by store trading hours
