Do you enjoy leading complex on-ground projects and working with people to deliver lasting outcomes for Victoria's forests and public land?
As a Senior Superintendent, you'll play a key role in delivering large-scale forest and fire management works across public land.
You'll work closely with contractors, Superintendents and field-based staff to ensure important programs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You'll also provide expert contract management support for complex and high-impact projects, helping to turn plans into real outcomes on the ground.
This is a practical, hands-on role where no two days are the same.
One day you could be supporting the delivery of complex field works, and the next mentoring staff, monitoring contractor performance, assisting with procurement processes or helping solve challenges to keep projects on track.
You'll combine field work, project delivery, stakeholder engagement and leadership to support forest and fire management programs across the region.
You'll join the Forest and Fire Programs team, a supportive and experienced group responsible for coordinating and delivering important forest and fire management programs.
The team works collaboratively, shares knowledge and expertise, and is committed to achieving positive outcomes for communities, public land and the environment.
We're looking for someone who can build strong working relationships, communicate effectively, think practically and support others to succeed.
Experience in contract management, field-based operations, forestry, land management, natural resource management or fire management will help you thrive in this role.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications




Experience in procurement and contract management
Experience land management operational activities including implementing and monitoring safety practices
Experience working in the field in forest terrain, using GPS and 4WD
This is a fixed term position available until 21 April ****.
The work location for this position is adaptable within Hume Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
