Top Cut Foods is Australia's national specialist butcher, supplying quality meat to Australian food businesses from six sites across Queensland, Sydney, Newcastle, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Our team of 200+ people is in the middle of a growth program, and we are building a brand and a story that match the quality of our product.You will join at an important time: the business is investing in how it shows up to customers, to the industry and to its own people.Job DescriptionThe RoleYou will be Top Cut's in-house storyteller and events organiser: planning and running customer and industry events, creating content that makes our people and product look as good as they are, and running our social channels.
This is a hands‐on, do-it‐self‐you‐own role, not a briefing‐agency role.
You will shoot, write, post and organise, with the support of the leadership team.After 12 months, success looks like:A consistent, professional social presence (LinkedIn first, plus Instagram and Facebook) with a regular posting rhythm and growing engagementA calendar of customer and industry events delivered on time and on budget, with measurable follow‐upA library of photo and video content from our sites, product and people that the sales team actually usesA steady internal newsletter and comms rhythm that keeps 200+ people across sevensites connectedTop Cut regularly appearing in food and hospitality trade mediaKey responsibilitiesThe role covers five areas, weighted roughly toward content and social (about 50%), then events (about 25%), with the rest split across internal comms, media and marketing operations.Content creation and social mediaPlan, shoot and edit short‐form video and photography on site (production floors, product, people, customers) using phone and cameraOwn the social calendar for LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook: plan, write, schedule, post and respondWrite engaging external content: case studies, product features, website copy, customer emails and LinkedIn thought‐leadership pieces for our leadership teamTrack performance and adjust: reach,
engagement, lead and enquiry sources, reported monthlyEventsPlan and run customer events, tastings, site tours and supplier days, from concept and budget through to on‐the‐day delivery and follow‐upCoordinate our presence at food industry trade shows and expos, including stand design, collateral and logisticsSupport internal events such as leadership conferences, town halls and team recognitionInternal communicationsWrite and produce a regular internal newsletter and leadership updates for a workforce of 200+ across six sitesSupport culture and recognition campaigns with content that shows our people and their winsMedia and PRBuild and maintain relationships with food, hospitality and business media; pitch stories, respond to enquiries and place Top Cut in trade and local pressPrepare media releases, spokesperson briefs and basic media‐response materialsMarketing operations and toolsManage the website content, email marketing platform and CRM‐linked campaigns alongside the sales teamUse AI, scheduling and design tools (Canva, Adobe, CapCut or similar) to work fast and keep the brand consistentManage a small marketing budget and external suppliers such as photographers, printers and event vendorsSupport the sales team with brochures, presentations, tender collateral and product sheetsDesired Skills and ExperienceAbout youYou are a doer with 5 to 7 years of marketing or communications experience who is equally comfortable planning an event, writing a LinkedIn post and filming a clip on the factory floor.
Essential:Proven experience running events end to end, such as customer functions, trade shows or corporate eventsStrong writing across formats,
from punchy social captions to polished media releases and internal updates (a portfolio or writing samples will be requested)Hands‐on photo and video skills: you can shoot, edit and publish content yourself, and can show examplesAdvanced social media capability across LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, including scheduling tools, analytics and paid boosting basicsTech‐savvy: fast with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or CapCut, email platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot or similar), website CMS and AI toolsOrganised and reliable, with the ability to juggle several projects and deadlines without close supervisionConfident communicator who can work with a CEO, salespeople and operations staff alikeBased on the Gold Coast or willing to relocate before starting, with a current driver's licenceA degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent experienceAdvantageousNot required, but these will set you apart:Experience in food, hospitality, FMCG, agribusiness or foodservice marketing, or a genuine passion for food and the meat industryExisting relationships with food, hospitality or business media, journalists, editors, food bloggers or influencers on the Gold Coast, Brisbane or nationallyB2B marketing experience, particularly supporting a sales team in a foodservice or wholesale environmentExperience with paid social, SEO or email automationDrone or videography credentials, or a strong personal content channelExperience in a rapid‐moving, founder‐or CEO‐led business where you have had to build things from scratchWhat we offerA role with real scope and visibility.Direct access to the CEO and leadership team, with a genuine say in how the Top Cut brand is shapedA blank canvas: you build the content, events and social engine rather than inheriting oneVariety across product, people, customers and events, in a national business with sevensitesRoom to grow into a Marketing Manager role as the business scalesBased at our Ormeau site on the Gold Coast
