Sloane Plumbing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Bookkeeper & Financial Administrator to take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping, financial administration and commercial controls of our growing business.
This is not a traditional data-entry bookkeeping role.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, commercially minded and detail-focused - someone who reviews information, asks questions, investigates discrepancies and takes ownership of getting things resolved.
Working closely with the Director, project teams and external accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial administration of the business is accurate, up to date and properly controlled.

About the Role
This is a broad, hands-on role combining bookkeeping, payroll, accounts administration and commercial financial control.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts function while also maintaining visibility over project revenue, claims, outstanding debtors, supplier costs and other key financial information across the business.
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply process transactions.
You will be expected to review information critically,
identify discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounts
Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounts function
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process and accurately code supplier and subcontractor invoices
Review supplier invoices against purchase orders, project allocations and supporting documentation
Identify and investigate discrepancies in invoices, costs and account allocations
Prepare and manage supplier and subcontractor payment runs
Reconcile supplier statements and follow up outstanding credits and credit notes
Complete bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records within Xero
Manage project cost allocations and ensure expenditure is correctly coded
Assist with GST and BAS reconciliations and preparation
Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting
Liaise closely with our external accountant and provide information required for month-end, BAS and other financial requirements
Payroll
Manage end-to-end payroll processing
Review timesheets and payroll information prior to processing
Identify and investigate anomalies, discrepancies and inconsistencies in timesheets
Liaise with operational staff and management to clarify payroll queries
Manage leave entitlements, superannuation and PAYG requirements
Complete payroll reconciliations and maintain accurate employee records
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
Accounts Receivable & Cash Collection
Monitor outstanding accounts receivable
Actively follow up overdue invoices and outstanding claims
Manage debtor queries and work with clients and project teams to resolve payment issues
Maintain explicit visibility over outstanding revenue and expected cash receipts
Escalate significant debtor issues to management where required
