Requirements
Strong experience designing, building and delivering Java cloud applications, with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot and relational databases
Hands-on experience building cloud-native, distributed systems on AWS and/or GCP
Strong grasp of microservices and service-oriented architecture, and the ability to design systems that scale and stay resilient
Working knowledge of containers, APIs, SQL/NoSQL, event streaming, TDD, Continuous Delivery and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Experience with AI-assisted and agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Gemini CLI
A track record of delivering high-performing, maintainable systems in complex environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience mentoring and developing engineers
An understanding of security, privacy, regulatory requirements and technology lifecycle management

Role
Lead the technical execution and delivery of projects and strategic initiatives across the wealth platform
Own delivery from start to finish, from architecture and design through to production deployment and keeping systems running reliably
Work with engineers, product managers and business analysts to set priorities and manage dependencies and risks
Make the key technical design decisions and write code for critical components and proofs of concept
Own platform reliability, including key risk indicators (KRIs), service level objectives (SLOs), incident management and root cause analysis
Push for high engineering standards across the teamMentor engineers through coaching, feedback and knowledge sharing
