ALG Talent has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join a highly skilled aviation maintenance workplace supporting the C-27J aircraft platform at RAAF Base Amberley.This position will suit an experienced NDT professional with an aviation or aerospace background who is looking to work within a technically demanding defence aviation environment.
You will be responsible for conducting, evaluating and reporting NDT inspections while supporting engineering and maintenance personnel with specialist technical advice.The RoleAs an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out Non-Destructive Testing and inspection activities on aircraft, aeronautical products and associated ground support equipment.Your responsibilities will include:Conducting Non-Destructive Testing and inspections on the C-27J aircraft platform and associated equipmentPerforming inspections as directed by approved engineering instructions, OEM requirements and relevant technical documentationInterpreting and evaluating inspection results against applicable acceptance and rejection criteriaAccurately documenting inspection results and preparing technical reports to a high standardEnsuring NDT equipment remains serviceable and appropriately calibratedProviding specialist NDT technical advice and guidance to engineering personnelCompleting required annual NDT skills and knowledge assessmentsComplying with relevant radiation safety requirements, assessments, monitoring and recording requirementsMaintaining compliance with workplace health and safety requirementsSupporting continuous improvement and operational efficiencies within the maintenance environmentAbout YouTo be successful in this position, you will ideally have:NDT Level 2 certificationCertification under National Aerospace Standard NAS410 and/or European Standard EN****Experience conducting NDT inspections within an aviation, aerospace or defence maintenance environmentStrong knowledge of NDT inspection techniques and their limitationsAbility to interpret technical instructions, engineering documentation and inspection criteriaStrong technical reporting and documentation skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to safety and qualityAbility to work effectively with aircraft maintenance and engineering personnelAbility to maintain required NDT competencies and successfully complete ongoing assessmentsWhat's On OfferOpportunity to work within a specialised defence aviation maintenance environmentWork supporting the C-27J aircraft platformRAAF Base Amberley locationTechnically challenging NDT inspection workOpportunity to work alongside experienced aviation engineering and maintenance professionalsAbove market pay rateCasual position, 3 month contract with potential to extend
