You will work closely with residents, community groups, government agencies and internal teams to promote environmental conservation, strengthen biosecurity practices and deliver meaningful environmental outcomes.You will lead with professionalism and integrity while actively promoting and living our PROUD Values—People First,



Respect, Opportunity, Unity, and Dedication—contributing to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.What You Will Be DoingLead and deliver biodiversity and biosecurity programs, projects and initiativesCoordinate biosecurity inspections, surveillance and investigationsMonitor compliance and take appropriate regulatory action, including issuing notices, orders and infringement penalties where requiredDevelop and deliver community education programs focused on biosecurity, weed management and environmental conservationProvide advice to residents, businesses and stakeholders on biodiversity and biosecurity requirementsManage grants, procurement processes, tenders and contractor relationshipsBuild strong partnerships with community groups, government agencies and environmental organisationsContribute to biodiversity and biosecurity policies, plans and operational frameworksPrepare program reporting and monitor outcomes against targetsRepresent Council at relevant forums, committees and stakeholder meetings.Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management,



Ecology or a related disciplineProven experience in the workplace and sustainability field, including project, grants, and contract management and delivery of sustainability initiatives, policies and plansExcellent interpersonal skills, including interagency and community consultation, conflict resolution and negotiation skillsDemonstrated experience in grant administration and reportingExperience in the design, implementation and management of community engagement programsDemonstrated a high level of organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, exercise initiative and meet targetsAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, when requiredCurrent Class C Drivers Licence.Demonstrated experience in delivering a priority or biodiversity program, preferably in a public sector setting.Why Work With UsAt Strathfield Council, you will enjoy a supportive workplace that values balance, growth, and wellbeing.
