Job Description
The Electrical Fitter is a trade qualified responsible for the testing, installation, commissioning, fault diagnosis, and maintenance of electrical systems associated with industrial pumps and generator equipment.
Based at VTX Group's Broken Hill facility, this role supports both workshop and field operations across regional NSW, VIC, and SA.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable operation, compliance, and performance of pumping and power generation systems used in mining and municipal wastewater applications.
The Electrical Fitter works both independently and as part of a broader service team, delivering high-quality technical outcomes while maintaining strong safety, documentation, and customer service standards.
Key responsibilities
Perform electrical testing, termination, commissioning and fault diagnosis of pump and motor systems
Conduct insulation resistance testing, phase rotation checks, and motor validation
Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems associated with pumps and generators
Fault find, test and commission control panels and wastewater pump stations
Work with VSDs, soft starters, protection relays and automation systems
Carry out generator diagnostics, load testing and performance verification
Install, maintain and repair electrical systems across workshop and onsite environments




Perform installation and repair of solar-powered pumping systems
Provide breakdown response and preventative maintenance across regional NSW, VIC, and SA
Conduct electrical compliance testing of rental fleet equipment to AS/NZS standards
Candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical with drug & alcohol tests as part of the recruitment process.
About you
Minimum 3+ years industrialelectrical/mechanicalexperience
Experience in pump systems, generators or wastewater infrastructure preferred
Strong industrial electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
High attention to detail in testing, reporting and compliance
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
Positive communication skills and ability to work within a team
Commitment to safety and adherence to WHS standards
Current driver's licence
