About the role
We are seeking an experiencedLight Vehicle Technician (Mechanic)to join our team at our Somersby, NSW location on afull-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of light vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and perform optimally.
This is a hands-on position that plays a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and customer service.
You will work in a qualified workshop environment, utilising diagnostic equipment and hand tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
Perform routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tyre rotations
Repair and replace vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, batteries, alternators, and belts
Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks in accordance with Australian standards
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
Communicate effectively with customers about repair requirements, timelines, and costs




Operate and maintain workshop equipment and tools responsibly
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures
Contribute to a safe and collaborative workshop environment
What we're looking for
Current or relevant light vehicle mechanical qualifications (such as an automotive trade certificate or equivalent)
Proven experience working as a light vehicle technician or mechanic in a professional workshop setting
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures
Competency with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to and from work
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
Knowledge of current automotive regulations and industry best practices is advantageous
