About the Role
As a Holistic Counselling Practitioner, you will provideculturally safe, strengths-based and trauma-informed support to children andyoung people in Child Safety placements, their careers, and families.
Workingwithin a whole-of-family framework, you will support healing, strengthencultural identity, and help improve social and emotional wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
Deliveringindividualand group non-clinical therapeutic counselling.
Conductingclient assessments, case planning and case management.
Supportingchildren,young people, carers and families through culturallyresponsiveinterventions.
Facilitatingconnectionsto culture, community, Elders and culturalmentoringopportunities.
Collaboratingwith Child Safety, placement providers and community stakeholders.
Advocatingfor clients and connecting them with appropriate services and supports.




Maintainingaccuratecase notes, reports and client records.
Participatingin outreach service delivery across Brisbane and Moreton Bay regions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualificationsin Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work,or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experienceworking with children, young people and families.
Knowledgeand understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islandercultures,communitiesand contemporary issues.
Experiencedeliveringstrengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsivesupport.
Understandingof child development, child protection principles and family supportpractices.
Strongcase management, assessment, communication and report writing skills.
Abilityto work collaboratively with government, non-government andcommunitystakeholders.
Strongorganisationaland time management skills.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and case management systems.
Hold a current and valid Driver Licence.
Hold a current Blue Card (Working with ChildrenCheck).
Hold a current National Police Certificate,issued within the last two years.
Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance(Yellow Card) or be willing and able to obtain one.
Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Be willing and able to undertake outreachactivities and occasional after-hours work as required.
