Vehicle Maintenance Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles

This is a hands-on field maintenance role working directly with autonomous vehicles and associated systems. You will support preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, breakdown response and operational recovery to help keep the vehicle fleet operating safely and reliably. The role combines established vehicle maintenance skills with exposure to a new generation of autonomous and intelligent vehicle technology.

This is a fixed term role commencing on 1 November **** and ending in May ****, with the potential for permanent role for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities
n
Inspecting and maintaining vehicles in accordance with prescribed maintenance schedules and maintenance manuals
n
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
n
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance
n
Replacing components and carrying out general mechanical repairs
n
Inspecting and securing mechanical fittings, connections and components
n
Responding to vehicle faults and breakdowns during operations
n
Assisting with the safe recovery of vehicles following faults, incidents or accidents
n
Coordinating vehicle recovery activities with the project and technical teams
n
Maintaining accurate records of faults,



maintenance activities and repairs
n
Working closely with Westwell engineers and the local project team to identify and resolve vehicle issues
n
About you
n
At least two years of vehicle maintenance, mechanical maintenance or related experience
n
Good knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems
n
Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems
n
An understanding of hydraulic systems
n
Solid fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
n
A practical and hands-on approach to maintenance
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
n
Strong communication skills on both Chinese Mandarin and English
n
A responsible and safety-focused approach
n
A current driver's licence
n
