Join the dedicated Environmental Services team at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital as a Part-Time Housekeeping Assistant, helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and staff.

As part of our housekeeping team, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the hospital. You will work within a supportive team environment to ensure patient rooms, wards, bathrooms, common areas and other designated spaces are maintained to a high standard. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of cleanliness, infection prevention and attention to detail within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities n
n
Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas to a high standard.
n
Perform vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising and general housekeeping duties throughout the hospital.
n
Clean clinical and non-clinical areas in accordance with hospital requirements.
n
Make and change patient beds as required.
n
Remove rubbish and waste safely and efficiently in accordance with hospital procedures.
n
Safely use cleaning equipment, products and chemicals.
n




Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies as required.
n
Follow Infection Prevention and Control and Environmental Services procedures at all times.
n
Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic environment for patients, visitors and staff.
n
Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
n
Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
n
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily cleaning objectives.
n
Follow Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
n
Undertake other housekeeping duties as required.

You Will Also Bring n
n
Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning or environmental services is desirable.
n
Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.
n
Understanding of basic cleaning, hygiene and infection prevention principles.
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
n
Ability to safely use cleaning equipment, products and chemicals.
n
Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a healthcare environment.
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Professional, respectful and caring approach when interacting with patients, visitors and staff.
n
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
