Our client, Bhutan Cuisine, is an authentic Bhutanese restaurant based in Coolbinia, Western Australia.
Established in ****, the business specialises in traditional Bhutanese cuisine, along with selected Himalayan, Nepalese, Indian and Tibetan dishes.
The restaurant operates dine-in, takeaway and online ordering services and has built a solid local guest base.
As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the restaurant's financial management, bookkeeping, tax compliance, payroll, reporting and day-to-day accounting requirements.
The annual salary for this full-time position is $80,000 to $90,000.
Duties include: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, journals, accounts payable and accounts receivable, in accordance with Australian accounting standards and business requirements.
Prepare and analyse monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports and management accounts for the restaurant business.
Monitor daily sales, online orders, cash, Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale (EFTPOS) and other payment receipts, and reconcile these transactions based on the accounting and point-of-sale records.
Perform bank, credit-card, payment-platform and other account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier invoices, customer accounts, payment schedules and outstanding balances.




Assist with the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statement (BAS), Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other statutory financial reports, ensuring records are complete and compliant with Australian taxation requirements.
Prepare and maintain payroll-related accounting records, including wages, superannuation, Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding and payroll reconciliations, in coordination with relevant payroll processes.
Monitor and analyse food, beverage, labour and operating costs, identifying significant variances and preparing financial information to support management decisions.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock purchases, wastage and cost of goods sold, and assist management with stock and cost-control analysis.
Prepare annual financial information and supporting schedules for tax returns, audits, financial statements and external Accountants/Advisers as required.
Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls covering cash handling, purchasing, expenses, sales, payments and financial record-keeping.
Provide management with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and other accounting advice to support business planning, profitability, cash-flow management and the ongoing growth of the restaurant.
Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Professional Accounting.
Must have at least one (1) year of experience.
