Coolum Beach Baptist Church is seeking a full time Associate Pastor to work alongside our Senior Pastor and elders, joining the team as an elder/pastor in the life of our church.
The role would include oversight of our Youth and Children's ministries.

We are a Bible-teaching church who seek to make disciples in every area of church life.
We are a welcoming, active, multi-generational church who have experienced significant growth in recent years, located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Areas of Responsibility
1. Functioning as a
pastor/elder
in the life of the church.
Regular preaching (approximately once per month).
Contributing to the pastoral leadership of the church as a member of the eldership.
Other pastoral tasks as appropriate (e.g. service leading, pastoral care, weddings, funerals, etc.).
2. Teenage discipleship & outreach, primarily through
Youth Group
:
Leading a Youth Group focused on discipling our teenagers and outreach to non-Christian teenagers who attend.
Establishing, training and supporting a team of youth group leaders.
3. Supervising children's ministries, primarily Sunday School:
Coordinating, training and supporting Sunday School teachers.




Would not necessarily require regularly teaching Sunday School.
This role description could be modified to reflect the strengths, experience, gifts and capacity of the successful candidate, but these three elements reflect the priorities of the role.
Criteria – The successful candidate will:
Be a male who demonstrates the Christlike character and spiritual maturity required of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1 Peter 5:2-3).
Demonstrate a vibrant, consistent relationship with Jesus, and a love and commitment to the church.
Have a transparent sense of call to pastoral ministry.
Be committed to gospel-centred Bible-teaching as the central task of pastoral ministry (2 Timothy 4:2), seeking to equip God's people (Ephesians 4:12) to obey Jesus' commission to make disciples (Matthew 28:*****).
Have a proven ability and desire to collaborate effectively, working alongside the Senior Pastor and with other leaders.
Possess relevant ministry & leadership experience and theological training, preferably a three-year theological degree.
Employment conditions, remuneration and pastoral registration will be according to Queensland Baptist guidelines.
