ALG Talent has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join a highly skilled aviation maintenance environment supporting the C-27J aircraft platform at RAAF Base Amberley.

This position will suit an experienced NDT professional with an aviation or aerospace background who is looking to work within a technically demanding defence aviation environment. You will be responsible for conducting, evaluating and reporting NDT inspections while supporting engineering and maintenance personnel with specialist technical advice.

The Role
n
As an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out Non-Destructive Testing and inspection activities on aircraft, aeronautical products and associated ground support equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Conducting Non-Destructive Testing and inspections on the C-27J aircraft platform and associated equipment
n
Performing inspections as directed by approved engineering instructions, OEM requirements and relevant technical documentation
n
Interpreting and evaluating inspection results against applicable acceptance and rejection criteria
n
Accurately documenting inspection results and preparing technical reports to a high standard
n
Ensuring NDT equipment remains serviceable and appropriately calibrated
n
Providing specialist NDT technical advice and guidance to engineering personnel
n
Completing required annual NDT skills and knowledge assessments
n




Complying with relevant radiation safety requirements, assessments, monitoring and recording requirements
n
Maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
n
Supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiencies within the maintenance environment
n

About You
n
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
n
n
NDT Level 2 certification
n
Certification under National Aerospace Standard NAS410 and/or European Standard EN****
n
Experience conducting NDT inspections within an aviation, aerospace or defence maintenance workplace
n
Strong knowledge of NDT inspection techniques and their limitations
n
Ability to interpret technical instructions, engineering documentation and inspection criteria
n
Strong technical reporting and documentation skills
n
High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
n
Ability to work effectively with aircraft maintenance and engineering personnel
n
Ability to maintain required NDT competencies and successfully complete ongoing assessments
n
