About the role:
n
Relationships Australia NT is looking for a passionate Children's Counsellor / Group Facilitator to join our Children and Families team.
n
You'll provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic interventions for children and families, including those experiencing the impacts of Family and Domestic Violence.
n
You'll work across onsite and outreach settings, facilitate therapeutic groups for children, support parents and carers, and connect families with appropriate services and community networks.
n
This is an opportunity to work with children experiencing complex circumstances while using a strengths-based, child-focused and whole-of-family approach.

About you
n
You'll bring:
n
Relevant qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling,



with eligibility for or current membership of the relevant professional body or AHPRA registration.
n
Experience providing counselling to children and families, including complex trauma, grief, loss or behavioural difficulties.
n
Strong understanding of trauma, attachment and child development.
n
Excellent communication, assessment, case management and advocacy skills.
n
A commitment to cultural safety, safeguarding and working respectfully with diverse communities.
n
What you'll need:

Current or ability to obtain an NT Ochre Card
n
Satisfactory National Criminal History Check
n
Current NT Driver's Licence
n
Ability to travel to Tiwi regularly
n
n
