About the Role The Foodies Restaurant Hampton Park is seeking an experienced Cook to join its kitchen team.
The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of Sri Lankan and other menu items in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures while maintaining consistent standards of food quality, flavour, portioning and presentation.
Location: Shopping Centre, Shop 4/4 Somerville Road, Hampton Park VIC **** Employment Type: Full time Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a range of Sri Lankan and other menu items in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures Prepare curries, rice dishes, kottu, rotty, string hoppers, meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes as required for daily service Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate quality Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills,



stovetops and other commercial cooking equipment Season food during preparation and cooking to maintain consistent flavour and quality Portion and present meals in accordance with established restaurant standards Prepare food to accommodate dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests where required Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily service Store, handle and rotate ingredients and prepared food appropriately, including within temperature-controlled storage areas Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to support efficient service Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times Candidate Requirements Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or above) or a related discipline Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen Experience preparing Sri Lankan or South Asian cuisine will be highly regarded Strong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques Ability to maintain consistent food quality, flavour, portioning and presentation Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant setting Only candidates currently residing in Australia will be shortlisted How to Apply Please submit your resume outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the position.
