An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 2–5+ years PQE Insurance Lawyer to join the Melbourne office of a well-established Australian commercial law firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in general liability who is looking for greater autonomy, quality work, strong mentoring and a clear pathway for career progression.
The Opportunity Working within the firm's insurance practice, you will primarily act on a broad range of general liability matters, with some opportunity to gain exposure to skilled indemnity work.
You will work with a diverse client base across a range of industries, including: Medical and dental practices Legal and accounting professionals Construction and associated industries Commercial businesses Other professional and corporate clients The role is suited to a lawyer who is ready to take ownership of their matters and develop their practice within a supportive team.
About You You will be a motivated insurance lawyer with approximately 2–5 years' post-admission experience who: Has experience in general liability matters Can manage files with increasing autonomy Has strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills Is confident communicating with clients and other stakeholders Enjoys working collaboratively within a team Is commercially minded and focused on delivering high-quality outcomes Is keen to develop their technical expertise and progress their career Is willing to contribute to the development and mentoring of more junior team members as they progress Experience in professional indemnity will also be viewed favourably, although it is not essential.




The Team You will join a close-knit Melbourne insurance team led by an approachable and supportive Partner who genuinely invests in the development of his team.
The team includes experienced practitioners across Partner, Special Counsel, Senior Associate, Associate and Solicitor levels, together with graduates, law clerks and legal support staff.
The Melbourne insurance practice works closely with colleagues in the firm's Sydney and Brisbane offices, providing exposure to a broader national insurance practice and a wide range of matters.
The Melbourne team is looking to grow their insurance practice, creating an opportunity for someone joining at this stage to play a meaningful role in its continued development.
