Position - Building Foreman Alto Pacific Pty Ltd Kunda Park QLD Permanent Full Time The Building Foreman position is to support and coordinate the planning, preparation and delivery of small-scale residential and building construction projects.
The position is responsible for coordinating construction activities from initial site assessment and project preparation through to completion, including retaining walls, pergolas, patios, decks, extensions, repairs, alterations and other minor building works.
Responsibilities Assist Construction Manager and Site Builders in planning and organising small building and construction projects from commencement through to completion.
·Interpret building plans, drawings, specifications and construction documentation relevant to small building projects.
·Review plans and specifications to identify construction requirements, dimensions, materials and sequencing.
·Coordinate and supervise day-to-day construction activities across residential and small commercial building sites.
·Coordinate the activities of tradespeople, subcontractors and other workers engaged on projects.
·Inspect construction work and materials to assess compliance with project specifications, drawings and applicable standards.
·Monitor workmanship and construction quality throughout the project.
·Assist with preparing estimates and quotations for small building projects.
·Calculate quantities of building materials required for individual projects.
·Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing.
·Assist in determining labour, material and equipment requirements.




·Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and quotations.
·Identify potential cost variations and report them to the Builder.
·Coordinate subcontractors and specialist trades engaged for individual projects.
·Provide subcontractors with relevant project information, drawings, specifications and work requirements.
·Promote and maintain safe working practices across construction sites.
·Assist in ensuring construction activities are undertaken in accordance with applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
·Identify site hazards and assist with implementing appropriate control measures.
·Ensure workers and subcontractors follow site safety procedures.
·Flexibility to work away for periods of weeks at a time on larger sites a requirement.
Essential Skills and Attributes ·Sound knowledge of building and construction practices.
·Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
·Understanding of construction sequencing and work programs.
·Ability to coordinate trades, subcontractors, labour and materials.
·Understanding of construction materials, methods and techniques.
·Ability to undertake basic measurements, calculations and quantity assessments.
·Understanding of relevant building codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
