As an Associate Portfolio Manager - Investment Data Governance, you'll help develop and extend the managed data ecosystem across our Investments division.
You'll bring together your understanding of investment processes, products and data to create practical governance solutions aligned with front, middle and back-office needs.
Working closely with portfolio managers, analysts, risk specialists, investment operations, technology and data teams, you'll translate complex requirements into scalable solutions that support performance, compliance and strategic decision-making.
As part of the Defensive and Liquid Assets and Portfolio Intelligence team, you'll contribute to the data and analytics capability supporting investment insights across Australian Retirement Trust's portfolios.
You'll also represent Investments in enterprise data governance matters, helping strengthen accountability, consistency and confidence in how investment data is managed and used.
This role is a permanent prospect and is based in Brisbane or Sydney .
Responsibilities Day to day, you'll: Design and implement data governance practices tailored to investment front, middle and back-office processes.
Create data taxonomies, classification structures and capability frameworks across complex investment products, strategies and asset classes.
Guide teams on data quality, model risk and governance to support investment performance, compliance and operational risk management.
Partner with portfolio managers, analysts and investment operations teams to define and manage critical data elements across systems and platforms.
Work with Investment Technology and Architecture teams to embed governance into data architecture, platforms and delivery pipelines.




Align investment data practices with enterprise governance standards and applicable regulatory, risk and compliance frameworks.
Translate complex investment data requirements into scalable solutions supporting reporting, risk management and strategic outcomes.
Develop training and uplift initiatives that strengthen data governance capability and maturity across Investments.
Promote governed and scalable data solutions that improve the efficiency and quality of investment decision-making.
Represent the Investments division in enterprise data governance forums, standards development and data risk matters.
Build strong relationships across the Investment Data Community and influence the adoption of consistent data practices and behaviours.
Qualifications It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills.
We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them.
It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: You have a bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems, computer science or another relevant discipline.
Your experience includes at least five years working within an institutional investment management environment.
You'll bring strong knowledge of data management frameworks, governance practices and data quality processes.
You're experienced in investment management processes, data systems and the needs of diversified portfolios across multiple asset classes and fund structures.




You have hands-on experience developing and managing investment data quality processes, including during system implementations, upgrades or vendor-managed data services.
Your background includes delivering large data initiatives across planning, requirements gathering, design, implementation, training and adoption.
You'll be confident engaging stakeholders at all levels and presenting complex information clearly to senior and executive audiences.
You're able to simplify complex situations, identify the key issues and facilitate decision-focused discussions.
You have strong organisational skills and can manage competing priorities accurately while meeting deadlines.
Your collaborative approach enables you to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across teams.
You'll ideally have experience coordinating organisational change or capability uplift initiatives at scale.
You're familiar with analytical methods and tools such as Power BI Service or Alteryx.
You may hold a Certified Data Management, Certified Information Professional or similar relevant certification.
