This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded Buyer to take ownership of a key Homewares category and play an important role in shaping the product offer across a well-established retail business.
Working closely with the broader Merchandise team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a compelling Homewares range that responds to customer needs, market trends and commercial opportunities.
About the role Develop and manage the Homewares category strategy and product range Source and select products that deliver on customer, quality and commercial requirements Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers Identify new product and category opportunities Work across product development and private label, from initial concept through to range delivery Negotiate pricing, costs, terms and trading agreements with suppliers Manage budgets, sales, margin, inventory and category performance Analyse market trends,



competitor activity and customer insights to inform ranging decisions Work collaboratively with Planning, Product Development, Marketing and Operations Ensure the category continues to evolve and deliver a compelling customer proposition About you We are looking for an experienced Homewares Buyer who combines strong commercial capability with a genuine passion for product.
You will ideally bring: Proven buying experience within Homewares, ideally soft furnishings or adjacent categories Experience working within a bricks-and-mortar retail environment Strong supplier and factory relationships Experience developing private label / own-brand product An understanding of the end-to-end product development process Strong commercial and negotiation skills A valuable eye for product, quality and emerging trends The ability to balance customer appeal with sales, margin and inventory objectives Strong stakeholder management and communication skills This is an opportunity to join an established Australian retailer with a significant store network and a strong presence in the market, where you will have the opportunity to influence the product offer and make a genuine impact within the Homewares category.
