- Fully furnished accommodation supplied ongoing!!! up to AUD572,732 total yearly package!!! Summary We are seeking an experienced General Medicine Staff Specialist to join a dynamic and expanding regional healthcare service.
In this full-time permanent senior role, you will lead complex patient care initiatives, mentor junior medical staff, and drive quality improvement projects across a diverse clinical setting.
As the service evolves to meet future healthcare demands, your expertise will be pivotal in shaping high-standard medical practices, supporting teaching and research, and ensuring the delivery of comprehensive care to the community.
Responsibilities * Provide professional leadership, supervision, and education to medical trainees, junior doctors, and students while fostering staff performance and workplace learning.
* Deliver specialist General Medicine services and participate in the after-hours consultant on-call roster to support national emergency access targets and outreach services.
* Promote evidence-based practice, clinical governance,



and risk management while ensuring compliance with national standards and accreditation requirements.
* Lead teaching seminars, contribute to clinical research and academic medicine, and maintain ongoing professional development to meet college requirements.
* Drive continuous quality improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, service delivery, and clinical outcomes.
Requirements * Hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification along with specialist registration with AHPRA and a Fellowship of the RACP in General Medicine.
* Possess high-level clinical knowledge and skills to lead patient assessment, admission, management, transfer, and discharge, including emergency care scenarios.
* Demonstrate proven ability to lead effectively within multidisciplinary teams and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
* Show a track record of identifying improvement opportunities and actively contributing to continuous quality, safety, and service enhancement.
* Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to ongoing professional development and active involvement in clinical education and knowledge sharing.
