About the Role

- Undertake regular assessment and performance reviews, actively participate in unit and facility based educational programs and meet mandatory training requirements.
- Actively participate in teaching and supervision of Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Undertake skills-based training to support this role.
- May be required to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as part of the Paediatric Oncology After Hours and Weekend Roster, and participate in first on-call as part of the Fellow/SMO on-call roster.
- Comply with and utilise procedures, organisational policies, regulations and standards, which impact on the position including contemporary human resource management issues of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.

Specific Responsibilities for the Research Fellow
- The Oncology Services Group has 4 cancer-focused domains.

- Bone Marrow Transplant
- Leukaemia / Lymphoma
- Neuro Oncology
- Solid Tumours
- Contribute to the design, development, and/or conduct of new and/or existing precision medicine research projects within the Oncology Service, or at one of our collaborating academic partner institutions.
- Review literature and cases relevant to the area of research being undertaken, and prepare at least one manuscript for publication (e.g., literature review, case series, protocol)
- Work with Oncology Service ZERO Research team to ensure timely completion of required clinical research forms to ensure data integrity

Educational and Professional Development




- The ZERO Fellow will contribute to medical student and junior medical staff teaching. The teaching opportunities include unit specific teaching and broader hospital wide teaching programs. All clinical teachers are entitled to apply for a University of Queensland Academic Title at the level of Associate Lecturer (registrars) or Lecturer (Fellows with the FRACP or equivalent.) Medical student teaching commitments will be negotiated at the commencement of each semester with allowance made for workload and planned leave. Fellows are expected to assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and act as role models.
