Lifestyle Assistants | Complex Support | Multiple Casual Roles /n

We’re people supporting people, and we’re looking for experienced and dedicated Lifestyle Assistants to join our growing team.

About the role /n

You’ll provide support centred on each person and their individual needs. This may include supporting people with complex support needs, psychosocial disability and behaviours of concern.

/n

You’ll work across Supported Independent Living, depending on the role and each person’s support requirements.

/n

Our services operate seven days a week. Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, active overnight shifts and sleepovers.

/n

What you’ll be doing /n

/n

- Supporting people with personal care, household tasks, daily routines, community participation and meaningful activities.

/n

- Building respectful relationships that promote dignity, choice, privacy, safety and independence.

/n

- Following individual support plans, health and allied health plans and behaviour support plans.

/n

- Providing higher intensity supports only within your training, demonstrated competence and each person’s individual support requirements.

/n





- Completing accurate and timely progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.

/n

- Recognising and promptly escalating changes in wellbeing, safety concerns, incidents and suspected abuse or neglect.

/n

- Communicating clearly with colleagues, health professionals and each person’s support network.

/n

- Following the NDIS Code of Conduct, NDIS Practice Standards and workplace health and safety requirements.

/n

- Where a behaviour support plan includes regulated restrictive practices, following all applicable authorisation, training, implementation and reporting requirements. Great Mates is committed to reducing and eliminating restrictive practices.

What we’re looking for /n

/n

- At least 12 months of paid experience supporting people with disability, including people with complex support needs, psychosocial disability or behaviours of concern.

/n

- A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or another relevant qualification.

/n

- Strong communication and problem solving skills.

/n

- A calm, respectful and qualified approach.

/n

- A positive attitude and commitment to ongoing learning.

/n

- The ability to follow plans,



complete documentation and work safely as part of a team.

/n

- Availability across a seven day roster, including weekends, active overnight shifts and sleepovers.

/n

What you’ll need /n

/n

- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.

/n

- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

/n

- A current Working with Children Check appropriate to the state and role.

/n

- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

/n

- A willingness to complete all required induction and participant specific training, and demonstrate competence before providing supports.

/n
