About Our Client
Our client is an Australian independent provider of heavy vehicle fleet maintenance, repairs and compliance support, servicing trucks, trailers and buses across workshops, customer sites and field service operations.
With operations across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, our client provides truck, trailer and bus repairs, servicing, parts, breakdown support, auto-electrical repairs, fabrication and on-site fleet maintenance. They are looking for a Senior Heavy vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Stapylton.
What You Will Be Doing
Based at their Stapylton Location they are seeking a Senior Heavy Vehicle Technician to join their team. Successful candidates will be required to work Monday Friday, between 6.30am to 3.30pm. Daily duties will include:
- Carry out major and complex vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Inspect vehicles and identify repair requirements
- Coordinate repairs with the Parts Team and Leading Hand
- Complete detailed inspections and accurate job reports
- Ensure repairs meet company, safety and NHVR standards
- Monitor workshop productivity, quality and turnaround times
- Identify recurring faults and reduce rework
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to apprentices and junior technicians
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
- Liaise with customers, site supervisors and suppliers when required
- Research technical information to support complex repairs
- Manage allocated repair timeframes and workshop priorities
- Follow all company servicing, safety and operational procedures
Pay Rates:
Casual:
$61.25$66.25 per hour + super, depending on experience
Permanent: $49.00$53.00 per hour + super, depending on experience
What You Will Need
- Mechanical Trade Qualification Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Current Trade Licence required
- Current valid Drivers Licence required
- Welding, fabrication, hot work and confined space qualifications or experience ideal
- Working knowledge of WHS Practices and Regulations
- Proven tenure as a qualified tradesperson
- Substantial relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of various heavy vehicle or machinery together with the ability to diagnose and rectify mechanical faults
- Understanding of leadership, training, and mentoring practices
