About the role

Tweed Valley Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager to lead the team on GEM Ward 2B1.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide clinical and operational leadership to nursing and support staff, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. You will oversee the day-to-day management of the ward, foster effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and maintain responsibility for workforce management, service delivery, and work health and safety outcomes.

The Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit provides specialised care for older adults with complex health needs, with a focus on improving independence, function, and quality of life. The unit delivers comprehensive, multidisciplinary assessment and rehabilitation in a supportive inpatient setting, helping patients achieve their individual goals and transition safely to the next stage of care.

Through coordinated care plans and access to intensive rehabilitation therapies and specialist resources, the GEM team supports older patients to maximise their recovery and maintain the highest possible level of function.
