About the Role

This is a hands-on supervisory role based at our Beresfield office, looking after traffic control operations on civil and infrastructure projects across Newcastle and the Hunter. You'll split your time between the yard and the field, keeping crews secure, jobs resourced and clients confident in the service we deliver.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Allocating suitably qualified Traffic Controllers to each job based on competency, site conditions and project risk, and reworking rosters at short notice when needed

- Preparing crews, vehicles, signage and equipment ahead of each shift, and keeping accurate records of stock, assets and vehicle compliance

- Reviewing TMPs, TGSs and permits before works start to confirm they're compliant and can be implemented on site

- Conducting regular site inspections and safety observations, and making sure hazards are identified and controlled

- Checking that every worker holds current tickets and inductions and is fit for work before starting their shift

- Coordinating the on-site response to incidents and near misses, contributing to investigations and closing out corrective actions

- Keeping clients informed and dealing with any service concerns directly on site





- Working with councils, emergency services, bus operators and other stakeholders as needed

- Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings, and holding regular check-ins with your team

- Mentoring Traffic Controllers and Leading Hands to build their skills and progress their careers

- Managing attendance, performance and conduct in line with company policy and the EBA

- Checking and signing off dockets daily so timesheets, payroll and invoicing are accurate and on time

- Providing timely reports to the office and acting as the link between field crews and the operations team

The role includes after-hours availability to manage issues on night works and early starts.

About You

- Proven experience supervising traffic control crews on civil or infrastructure projects

- Current TfNSW Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer qualifications

- A Traffic Management Designer (PWZTMP) qualification will be highly regarded

- A current White Card and NSW driver's licence

- A good understanding of the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM) and TfNSW requirements

- Knowledge of Traffio or a similar scheduling system (RapidPlan experience highly regarded)

- Confidence using Microsoft Office

- Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead crews and deal with clients on site

- Organised, reliable and solutions-focused, with a strong safety mindset

- A quick learner who responds positively to change
