Emergency Planning Consultant

Melbourne, VIC | Full-time, Part-time or Casual

Full-time: Approximately $90,000–$95,000 + super + $15,000 car allowance (extra kms allowance for regional work)

Casual consulting: $500 per full day / $250 per half day

In business for over 15 years, EvacServices is a leader in the field of emergency planning. We’re looking for an experienced, adaptable Emergency Planning Consultant to join our small but growing organisation, delivering emergency planning, training, and consulting services to a diverse range of clients.

This is a mobile, client-facing consulting role, not a traditional office-based 9–5 position. You’ll spend your time working with clients at their sites, delivering practical advice, training and emergency preparedness solutions.

You’ll need to be comfortable with variety, travel and a changing schedule, and enjoy working independently while being part of a growing team.

What you’ll be doing

- Deliver emergency planning and preparedness services to clients

- Attend client sites across Melbourne, regional Victoria and occasionally interstate

- Work independently across multiple client locations

- Deliver training and consulting services in a professional and engaging manner

- Build strong relationships with clients and understand their individual requirements

- Use Microsoft Teams and other technology to support training and consulting activities

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in emergency planning, emergency management, evacuation planning, training or a closely related field

- Confident working directly with clients

- Professional, personable and comfortable presenting to groups

- Highly organised and able to manage your own schedule

- Adaptable and comfortable working in a small, growing organisation

- Technically confident,



including Microsoft Teams and basic AV troubleshooting

- Comfortable with regular travel and early starts

- Able to work independently without needing constant supervision

The practical side of the role

This is a mobile, client-facing position, so you'll spend a good amount of your time out and about visiting client sites rather than sitting behind a desk.

- Regular local, regional and occasional interstate travel is required

- Some weeks may involve several consecutive days travelling to client sites

- Some early starts depending on client requirements, with some appointments requiring a 6:00–6:30am start

- Driving one hour or more each way to a client site is sometimes required

- Occasional overnight stays may be required for regional work

- You’ll need a current open driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle suitable for work-related travel

- Using technology to support training, reporting and communication

- Working from home when you're not required on site

This is a mobile, client-facing position, so you'll spend the majority of your time out and about visiting client sites rather than sitting behind a desk.

The role will involve:

- Regular travel throughout Rockhampton and surrounding regional areas

- Working independently at a range of client sites

- Some early starts depending on client requirements

- Managing a wide-ranging schedule and adapting when priorities change

- Using technology to support training, reporting and communication

- Working from home when you're not required on site
