Job description:
Are you a highly organised administrative professional with a knack for numbers, procurement or purchasing, and keeping things running smoothly?
We are looking for a dedicated Procurement Support Officer to join the Snowy 2.0 Project in Cooma on a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this fast-paced role, you will be the administrative backbone of our team, playing a vital part in supporting our procurement functions and ensuring one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects has exactly what it needs to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
While this is a diverse administration position, a significant and crucial part of your day-to-day will be supporting our procurement activities. You will ensure our supply chain keeps moving and our records are spotless.
Your key focus areas will include:
- Procurement & Purchasing: Raising purchase orders, coordinating and undertaking procurement activities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaising with broader Snowy Hydro teams to ensure all procurements comply with budget requirements and internal policies.
- Information Management: Ensuring mailbox emails and procurement documents are actioned in a timely manner and stored in the appropriate document management system.
- Broader Team Support: Alongside your procurement duties, you will also step in to support the wider procurement team undertaking tasks and activities related to the procurement function.
About the location:
This role is located at our Project Head Office in Cooma, NSW, working a standard Monday to Friday week.
About you:
We are looking for a team player who loves bringing order to a busy environment and genuinely enjoys administration and implementing efficiencies to improve processes.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Strong administrative skills: A solid understanding and experience in general administration duties (Understanding of procurement or purchasing is highly desirable)
- Relevant qualifications: A Certificate IV in Business Administration, or equivalent, or hands-on industry experience.
- Exceptional organisation: Brilliant organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Strong communication: Warm, highly developed communication skills to build positive relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Tech-savvy confidence: Strong ability to navigate business systems, with solid skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Team Player attitude: Your enthusiasm, positivity and enjoyment of working within a team to implement continuous improvements.
