Preamble

Our client is a very high profile public sector organisation, with their office located in Sydney's CBD.

Work is hybrid.

This role is contract, with an initial period of 6 months.

You need to be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen to apply.

No specific security check is required to apply, but a police check (at minimum) will need to be satisfactorily completed prior to start.

The Role

You will be involved in strategic and technical leadership in the design, implementation, governance, and optimisation of cloud and AI solutions.

The role ensures solutions are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational objectives, technology standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will be working with business stakeholders, project teams, vendors, security specialists, and infrastructure and application operational teams

The role translates business needs into practical solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, AI services, automation, and up-to-date application architectures.

Key accountabilities will include:

- cloud and AI architecture,

- solution design and modernisation,

- platform and technology leadership,

- security, risk and governance, and

- data and information architecture.





Key challenges will include:

- Balancing innovation, security, compliance, and operational requirements,

- Managing rapidly evolving cloud and AI technologies,

- Supporting diverse business priorities while maintaining architecture standards,

- Optimising cloud and AI consumption costs while delivering business value, and

- Ensuring AI solutions are secure, trustworthy, transparent, and appropriately governed.

Technical skills needed (you should have most if not all of the following):

- Azure and AWS architecture,

- Cloud-native solution design,

- Networking, identity, security, and governance,

- AI platforms, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft Copilot,

- Application integration and API Management,

- Infrastructure as Code, automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD,

- Identity and Access Management,

- Data architecture, information management, and analytics, and

- Business continuity and disaster recovery.
