Nurse Unit Manager – Perioperative Services - Swan Hill District Health

Latitude Recruitment is working with Swan Hill District Health to find a Nurse Unit Manager for their Perioperative Services. If you've been in theatre for a while, you've led a team, and you're ready to step into a leadership role, this one's worth a look.

You'll report to the Director of Clinical Services and manage a team of 20 to 25 across Operating Theatre, PACU and Central Sterile Services. Day to day, that means keeping the lists running, working through theatre utilisation and case flow with the surgeons and anaesthetists, and making sure your team has the staff, skill mix and support they need. You'll also look after the quality and risk side, including incident management, audits, accreditation and surgical safety, while supporting emergency and after-hours surgery when needed. It's a hands-on leadership role in a hospital big enough to keep you busy and small enough that you'll know everyone by name.

What you'll need

- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Senior leadership experience in perioperative nursing




- Experience with workforce planning, rostering and managing nursing resources
- A good working knowledge of the NSQHS Standards, ACORN Standards and surgical safety processes
- The ability to build a team that people want to be part of
- Strong communication skills, both written and face to face

A postgraduate qualification in leadership, management or perioperative nursing would be a bonus.
