About the role

This role is 100% REMOTE and must be based in Australia.

This role focuses on the development of high-quality Science curriculum, with a strong emphasis on conceptual understanding, explicit teaching, and engaging classroom practice. Our Science programs are written using a Direct Instruction / Explicit Teaching model, supporting teachers to clearly model concepts, guide practice, and check for understanding. You will work within established GGSA frameworks and templates to create lessons and resources that are clear, rigorous, visually engaging, and classroom-ready.

Key responsibilities

- Develop Primary Science lessons aligned to GGSA priorities and the Australian Curriculum (ACARA)

- Write curriculum content across the core Science domains: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth & Space Science

- Design lessons using a Direct Instruction / Explicit Teaching approach

- Draft teacher guides, student workbooks, assessment materials, and supporting resources using set templates

- Design clear, structured PowerPoint presentations for classroom use

- Confidently record short lesson videos to support teacher and student implementation

- Prepare materials for peer and leadership review, respond to feedback, and update resources accurately

- Follow the GGSA Weekly Work Cycle and deliver agreed outputs within established timeframes

- Adhere to curriculum processes, systems, and quality standards

- Communicate clearly and proactively about progress, questions, or potential delays

About you





- Strong understanding of the core components of Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth & Space Science

- Experience teaching Science to primary-aged students

- Sound understanding of the Australian Curriculum (ACARA)

- Familiarity with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS – United States) is a strong bonus, as our programs draw upon and align with both frameworks

- Prior experience with Direct Instruction / Explicit Teaching frameworks is highly regarded

- Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

- Highly organised, able to manage timeframes and multiple deliverables

- Open, professional communicator who welcomes feedback

- Passionate about improving science teaching and learning through high-quality digital curriculum
